  • To attract the very best Faculty Members Colleges are compelled by Law in prevention of nepotism to publicly announce any restaffing of teaching positions well in advance. Any sufficiently qualified individual – whether national or foreign – can apply.
  • Faculty members from the Musicians Group reach their vocation only by virtue of an extensive selection and audition process. Teachers are mainly judged by their artistic performance as well as their qualification as a teacher in front of a panel in one or two live teaching session(s). Achievements in the way of degrees are largely irrelevant. The panel decides by majority vote. In the event of a veto the audition must be repeated.
  • More recently appointments of Faculty Members are increasingly made only for a specific term.
  • The work load for a full-time professor is normally 18 hours per week.
  • Performance classes are already included in the curriculum starting 3rd semester of the Bachelor course.
  • To increase proficiency in their performance classes are supplemented by an extensive program of Master Classes given by musical celebrities.
